A connection-driven community building experience for people interested in shared housing, shared resources, and shared lives.

It was created to connect people interested in cohousing, give existing communities tools to become more connected, and build awareness about Bellingham’s newest cohousing project!

The event consists of a potluck, 3 Ted Talks from leaders in the cohousing space, and 3 community building activities that help people feel what is necessary to build community.

You should come if you are interested in building a new community or want to make an existing community better.

SCHEDULE
The event will begin with a shared meal and everyone should bring their favorite dish! To make sure we don’t all bring the same thing, tell us what you are bringing here: http://bit.ly/2zNkZyT

We’ll kick off the Ted Talk screenings with “Intentional Communities — 50% Less Hippie Than You’d Expect” by Bianca Heyming. The screening will be followed with a sharing activity that will help us create our “Story Board”.

We’ll then watch Courtney Martin’s talk on “The New American Dream” and have a discussion that will help us create our “Vision Board”.

The final Ted Talk is “How Cohousing Can Make Us Happier (and Live Longer)” by Grace Kim. After the screening, we will talk about how to cultivate community in the future.

We’ll finish the night with a recap of the 3 secrets to building community and how you can take those lessons into your own communities.
