While we are in transition and searching for a stable home base, we will continue to produce events with some of our neighborhood partners.

The AltLib Popup Series will present roving events to continue supporting expansive art projects and dig deep for uncommon cultural exchanges. If you’re interested in setting up a show with us, please read our booking page and send us an e-mail.

Linqua Franqa
Hip-hop linguist/activist/Ph. D student, Athens, GA
“Linguistically speaking, Linqua studies hip-hop patterns and tools, such as slant rhymes and syllables per second, but what she finds most interesting is “the way hip-hop language kind of flips the traditional value system upside down.”

Animal|Inside – Animal|Inside is an electronic music group from Bellingham, Washington, formed in 2012, disbanded in 2014, reassembled in 2017. The band currently consists of two audio/visual artists writing and preforming music with the creative support of countless others.
The band combines electronic drums with roving synth melodies to create the perfect musical setting for delicate and haunting vocals. Cavernous, cerebral, and dark, Animal|Inside’s songs are made to transport the listener to a swirling landscape of beauty and rawness. They are currently working on a music video and recording an EP, release date September.

Knomad – Skai Johnson aka Knomad is a prolific movement artist that specializes in the genre of hip hop. Hailing from Los Angeles, CA this accredited young talent graduated from California State University Northridge with a BFA in Dance Performance and Minor in Dance Education. After graduating, having graced many stages in LA (including the hit cable TV show So You Think You Can Dance), performing in music videos/commercials, and even an audition into Julliard, Skai took a step back from the disorienting big city life to assess his own philosophies in life and find a way to translate those messages through dance and other art. This landed him in the small, serene, and quite town of Bellingham, WA where the introspective and out spoken persona Knomad was born.
