We will be rescheduling a performance with Lori Goldston later this summer. \nThe AltLib Popup series will run through the summer\, presenting a series of roving popup events to continue supporting expansive art projects and dig deep for uncommon cultural exchanges\, while we search for a new space to ground our collective. \nFor the first installment\, we are proud to host: \nLori Goldston is a cellist; classically trained and rigorously de-trained\, possessor of a restless\, semi-feral spirit. She has been based in Seattle\, working as a musician\, composer\, improvisor\, producer\, writer and teacher. Her voice as a cellist\, amplified or acoustic\, is full\, textured\, committed and original. A relentless inquirer\, her work drifts freely across borders that separate genre\, discipline\, time and geography. \nGibrana Cervantes is a Mexican violinist and improviser. After being classically trained\, she has performed both in traditional orchestras and contemporary music groups. Her work as a violinist incorporates electronic sound processing to use noise as a composition tool\, mixing atmosphere with melody. She is the founder and curator of the sound gallery 316centro\, a space focused on bringing to light the different manifestations of sound art that mark musical life in Mexico City. \n$10 // Location TBA
