FILM – IWW Rebel Worker Series

“Land and Freedom” (1995) is a drama set in the turmoil of the SPANISH CIVIL WAR (1936-9). The movie, directed by Ken Loach, follows an English communist who joins the fight against fascism. He fights with a marxist militia, the POUM, but is faced with betrayal by the Stalinist Communist Party. There is a love interest. The story takes place on the battle lines and in the streets of revolutionary Barcelona. 109 minutes. All ages.
