EVENTS CALENDAR
While we are in transition and searching for a stable home base, we will continue to produce events with some of our neighborhood partners.
The AltLib Popup Series will present roving events to continue supporting expansive art projects and dig deep for uncommon cultural exchanges. If you’re interested in setting up a show with us, please read our booking page and send us an e-mail.

BellCAF Presents: Crankie Annimation Showcase
October 21, 2017 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Crankie – ˈkraNGkē – noun – An old storytelling art form, taking the form of a long illustrated scroll that is wound onto two spools. The spools are loaded into a box which has a viewing screen. The scroll is hand-cranked while the story is told, often through an accompanying narrative, song or tune. The term crankie, is being used now to name this very old art form. In the 19th Century, they were called moving panoramas (among many other names).
We’re very excited to be hosting a series of crankies and other physically animated performances for the first Bellingham Crankie Festival!
The night’s performances will feature old fassioned handmade crankies from Sue Truman, Dejah Léger, and Alexander MacLeod, storytelling from Harper Stone & the Cauldron of Plenty and a live comics reading performed by Future Man of Neoglyphic Media.
Tickets will be available at the door for $5-10 sliding scale.
