Brivele and Other Jewish Anti-Fascists

Jewish Voice for Peace Presents an Evening with BRIVELE ! בריוועלע and Other Jewish Anti-Fascists, living and dead!

Doors at 7:30pm; Performances at 8:00pm

BRIVELE is a Seattle-based anti-fascist klezmer folk-punk trio who braid together oral history, Yiddish language, contemporary and old-country musical genres, American Vaudeville, and visual arts. Brivele is pronounced “BREE-veh-leh” (בריוועלע) and means “Little Letter” in Yiddish.

JEWISH VOICE FOR PEACE members are inspired by Jewish tradition to work together for peace, social justice, equality, human rights, respect for international law, and a U.S. foreign policy based on these ideals.

ELAINA M. ELLIS is a poet, editor, curator, and performing artist. She is the author of the poetry collection Write About an Empty Birdcage (Write Bloody Publishing). She is a Lambda Literary Fellow, a self-identified Mountain Femme, and a founding member of the Kulshan Academy for Queer Artists. She has served as a consultant for Jewish Voice for Peace.

ROBERT YERACHMIEL SNIDERMAN is a poet, performance and visual artist. Through 2018, he worked as a DAAD Research Fellow at the Institute for Art in Context in Berlin, where he contemplated, amassed an archive, and performed public art actions with/in the largest intact and active Jewish cemetery in Europe. In the years prior, he organized anti-racist programming, workshops, and exhibitions at the Jewish History Museum of Tucson.
