I of Nature
Steve McGrewThis book argues that consciousness is a purely physical and natural process: one that involves communication between mind and intelligence. “Mind” is the set of goals that drive an intelligent system, and “intelligence” is the process of constructing and using models of the environment to evaluate alternative paths for achieving goals. I of Nature meets the challenge of explaining the apparent intelligent design in Nature, not by denying the intelligence behind Nature’s designs, but by identifying the source of that intelligence.
